Valentine's Day Dress

Wow, it's Valentine's Day and February already..well, I did make a dress especially for the "HEART" occasion.  I thought about what a romantic dress would look like and came up with this, a lot of chiffon, a hint of glimmer and glamour and of course, RED is the color!  Any girl would love dressing her doll in this gorgeous dress.

There are eight layers of circular tulle for a petticoat and underneath that, a taffeta undergarment.

first post year 2011

I have enjoyed many days off so far this year due to all of the snow.  Since I am a substitute teacher, I do not work when there are snow days.  I have taken the opportunity to design and make a few outfits for my etsy account as well as my store, Custom Creations by Sharon.  I hope you enjoy viewing these as much as I enjoyed designing them.

New Year's Eve 2010

I have just gotten home from visiting with several of my grandchildren for the holidays.  It is now time to get back to business and time to start thinking about planning for the New Year.  The year 2011 should be one in which my business starts to get more exposure.  I plan to post a picture at least once a week featuring a new American Girl outfit.  I will be excited to get started with all of my plans!

Getting ready for the New Year

I am looking forward to the New Year and one of my resolutions will be to add at least one new item per week to my American Girl Doll inventory.  I have several ideas and will enjoy seeing the finished product.

Matching nightgowns for your girl and her doll

I got started making doll clothes when my oldest granddaughter got an American Girl doll, and she wanted a matching outfit for her and her doll, so I made her one for Christmas that year. She loved it, and in the years since, I have made her and my other granddaughters several outfits, some just for the dolls, some matching for both the girls and the dolls.

In this picture is an example of a custom order of a girl's nightgown (size 12, in this case) with a matching doll nightgown for an American Girl doll. I usually make it with pink ribbons, but it was ordered with blue. I'm happy to customize details like that any time.

I currently have a size 8 nightgown already made, with pink ribbons, and a matching doll nightgown.

A matching outfit like this is $45 (a similar outfit from the American Girl Doll website will set you back about $60). I hand-make all items, and can make this in a variety of sizes and fabrics.
